Conference and Lobby Day 2020
Join with people from across the state to lobby your lawmakers, share your stories, and fight for justice in your community
Sunday, April 19 - Monday, April 20
California State Capitol Building Sacramento, CA
In 2019, the ACLU and a strong coalition of families whose loved ones were killed by the police pressured California lawmakers and Governor Newsom to pass and sign the California Act to Save Lives (AB 392) — a bill to address one of the most pressing forms of police violence afflicting Black and brown communities in the state. With this new law, which took effect on January 1, California went from having one of the deadliest, most permissive use of force laws in the country, to having one of the strongest laws in the country.
AB 392 was the primary focus of last year's lobby day, attended by hundreds of every day Californians who showed up in our state's capitol to make a difference. Let’s do it again. RSVP Today for the ACLU of California's annual conference to learn how you can be a leader in your community, how to help pass legislation to advance civil liberties and civil rights, and how to engage your community in a fight for a future that includes all Californians.

WINK, a homeless gender questioning teenager and Dario Villanova, a former A-list actor who is now doing B movies, are both down on their luck in Los Angeles. When a synchronistic meeting connects these two souls, they quickly bond over music, art, and life’s unexpected misfortunes. Sometimes the best way forward is to stop fighting the past.
